Instagram Village

India is full of incredible destinations, but there is one village that stands out in terms of its digital revolution. Tulsi, a village in Chhattisgarh, has become famous as the ‘Instagram Village of India’ due to its flourishing content creation economy. As many as 25% of its 4,000 residents are producing digital content, transforming their lives and rejuvenating the local economy.

The Emergence Of The Instagram Village Of India

The journey of content creation at Tulsi started in 2018 when two natives started a YouTube channel named Being Chhatisgarhiya. It became popular, and it inspired many villagers to venture into social media platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. Social media has gone beyond being a hobby for individuals and become a source of making serious money.

Observing this internet boom, the city government has taken steps to favour the village creators. A dedicated studio has been built to help residents shoot and edit quality content. This move has facilitated budding influencers in creating engaging videos, garnering greater visibility for Tulsi as an interesting content creators’ hub.
