When Aamir Khan Spotted Malavika Mohanan In South Mumbai
Malavika Mohanan’s journey as an actress is truly amazing, but did you know that an ace actor told her to pursue a career as an actress even before she planned to do so? In the latest episode of Sunday Brunch with Curly Tales, Malavika revealed that Aamir Khan saw her across the street while he was shooting the movie Talaash and called her for a quick chat.
Malavika recollects that while filming the movie in South Mumbai, Aamir Khan was in the middle of some shoot when he saw her from across the road. He called her to the set and asked her what she did and general things like that. She replied that she was in college and with his keen observation, Aamir promptly told her, “You should be an actor!”
She remembers that Aamir observed her and made this comment. And while she was still trying to figure out what to do in life, as she was only 19, this encounter did take her by surprise. Years later, she now looks back at the encounter and feels it is all serendipity!

How The Talented Actress Got Her First Film
The universe was trying to bring the world of movies to Malavika Mohanan and that’s exactly how she ended up signing her first movie. She feels, “More than me finding films, films found me!” She remembers she bagged her first film “very unexpectedly” and it wasn’t something she “went auditioning for, or looking for.”
Malavika explains that she was cast unexpectedly for her first movie, by none other than superstar Mammootty. He actually saw her at some event and thought she would fit the role opposite Dulquer Salmaan in Pattam Pole perfectly. And that’s how she ended up getting the role.
