This time, Habibi really came to Dubai! Our editor-in-chief, Kamiya Jani, met with the legendary singer, Asha Bhosle, to chat about music, Bombay, food and so much more on this episode of Sunday Brunch. This episode is close to our hearts as the singer gave an insight into her life, sang for us and we ate at her fabulous restaurant in the City of Gold! Check it out.

Why Asha Bhosle Opened A Restaurant In Dubai?

Asha’s is a renowned Indian restaurant owned by the iconic singer, Asha Bhosle. One of her outlets is in Dubai, where we filmed one of our special Sunday Brunch episode. We enjoyed a grand tour by the vocalist herself before being spoiled by the bestselling dishes at Asha’s.

We were curious to know why was Dubai a prime location for her restaurant and asked about the same. Asha Ji disclosed that she frequently visits her youngest son, Anand Bhosle, who resides in Dubai. He is also the brainchild behind Asha’s restaurant and encouraged her to build a culinary marvel to showcase her passion for cooking!

Asha Ji revealed to us that her son adores her cooking and had a dream to open a restaurant to honour her culinary prowess. Gradually, he came up with the idea of Asha’s and executed it perfectly with more than 10 successful outlets in the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and the United Kingdom!

With that, the menu specifically focused on Indian food items which his mother prepared during his childhood. Asha Ji told us that she was always keen on learning new dishes from around the world. Her inquisitive self would have in-depth conversations about food, cooking and its different techniques with people or chefs. And this is how she perfected every dish in the Indian cuisine.
