The workers of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation or BMC recently got a lot of praise after a phenomenal demonstration of their commitment to keep the city clean. The T20 Victory Parade saw the participation of millions of people. Visuals showing a sea of people at Marine Drive in Mumbai went viral on social media. However, visuals of the area littered with footwear followed soon after the parade was done. This litter was cleared by BMC workers on a warpath which ended up winning entrepreneur Anand Mahindra’s praise.

Anand Mahindra Lauds BMC For Marine Drive Cleanup

Visuals from Marine Drive were the talk of the town during the T20 Victory Parade. And why wouldn’t it garner attention? A sea of people gathered next to the literal sea celebrating a major win! It was also an excellent demonstration of the chokehold that cricket as a sport has on India!

However, as is common after such large gatherings, the picturesque Marine Drive was littered with footwear after the parade was over. Many people also shared photos of a now-deserted but littered Marine Drive during the evening.

However, when visitors went there the next morning, the Marine Drive had been cleared of all the junk from the parade! It was as if there were some magic elves who worked their charms. But there were no magic elves. This was done by the hardworking BMC employees. A video shared on X (formerly known as Twitter), showed the before and after of the cleanup. Anand Mahindra was evidently all praises.

“THIS Is What Makes A City A World City… The Attitude”

The entrepreneur reshared the post and said that he, too, was wondering how long the cleanup would take. He was appreciative of the fact that the BMC workers had to toil overnight to “clear the traces of the parade.”

He said that this is what makes any city a world city. It is not just the infrastructure but also the attitude of all living there.
