This Is What Makes Rajkummar Rao And Wamiqa Gabbi Feel Successful

For the latest episode of Sunday Brunch, our Editor-in-Chief Kamiya Jani sat down with Wamiqa Gabbi and Rajkummar Rao for a delicious meal at Bawri, Mumbai. The talented duo spoke about their careers, passion for the craft, and even how Wamiqa almost quit acting. While we were at it, we couldn’t help but wonder what success means to them, and here’s what they had to say.

Rajkummar Rao And Wamiqa Gabbi On What Makes Them Feel Successful

“To me, going back home, to my loved ones, and having a peaceful sleep at night–that is success. Jiss din woh nahi hota, uss din lagta hai aaj ka din acha nahi raha, it was not a successful day,” Rajkummar Rao shared his idea of success in a very simple and admirable way.

“Even my father taught me something like this. He used to say ki agar mirror main khud ko dekh kar tum apne sath aankhe nahi mila sakte, toh samajh jao ki kuch theek nahi hai,” Wamiqa Gabbi added.

“I do feel successful now. I truly feel that because now my father, my parents, and my family are really proud of me. They have always been proud of me but I think they always wanted to see me do a Bollywood film. I feel that with my new film, Bhul Chook Maaf, I have become successful for my parents,” she added.

As we continued chatting with the Punjabi kudi and the Haryanvi lad, we couldn’t help but ask what Sunday brunch looked like at Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi’s home growing up in North India. “Parathe, rajma chawal, saag, maake ki roti…yeah hi sab banata tha,” recalled Wamiqa. “Woh bhi kya sahi din the! Subha Chitrahaar dekho, fir Mahabhrat dekho, fir aapko pata hai rajma chawal banege ya chole chawal ya Kabuli chane… kya maazedar din the,” added a nostalgic Rajkummar.
