Kapil Sharma, a simple boy from Amritsar, is now famous beyond his own expectations, and we aren’t a bit surprised. Joining us on this episode of Tere Gully Mein, Kapil Sharma took our Editor-in-Chief through the lanes of Amritsar and his journey from that town to the world stage. This Is When Kapil Sharma Realised He Made It Big
Starting the food trail in Amritsar with Amritsari Kulchas was the best decision ever. The kulchas were amazing, as we could tell by the number of people gathered outside the Dhaba. However, those people did not just come there seeking kulchas. Their love for Kapil Sharma and his art brought them there.
The excitement in people around him was unbelievably amazing. Of course, we had to ask him how he felt about receiving all this love from the world. Answering most humbly, he expressed that he feels grateful for all the acceptance and love he gets. Even after so many years of stardom, he still gets overwhelmed by his popularity.
And then came the most important question. When did he first realise that he was now famous? To answer that, he shared that he was doing a show on a regional channel before Laughter Challenge. So, getting into the Laughter Challenge and performing on national television was a big deal for him. However, when he won the show and saw himself on a news channel, that is when he realised he had made it big.

He Participated In A Fun Game
While still on the way to Punjab Naatshala, it was time for some fun. We decided to play a game with Kapil Sharma where he had to translate Hindi dialogues into English. First, he had to translate, ‘Aao sikhaun tumhe ande ka funda’ and he translated it to ‘Let me teach you anda’s funda’. Next, he translated ‘Yeh dunia pittal di, hun baby doll main sone di’ to ‘This world is made of brass, I am made of gold, and I am a baby doll’.
Followed by more dialogues, it was a really fun game, and you need to watch it right away!
