In the episode of Tere Gully Mein, Purav Jha, a popular YouTube sensation known for his mimicry skills, opened up about how his father came to accept his content creation journey. The conversation took place at Little Chef, Paschim Vihar, over a plate of spring rolls. Initially working under the famous YouTuber Harsh Beniwal, Purav has since carved out a path for himself. His YouTube journey is truly admirable, and here’s how his father came to support his career choices.
Purav Jha’s Father’s Reaction To His Videos
In a candid conversation, Purav Jha shared how his father initially reacted to his YouTube videos. For the first six months of his YouTube journey, Purav didn’t share anything with his father; however, his mother was supportive and encouraged him to follow his heart. His mother had just one condition that whatever he does must never compromise his father’s respect.
He went on to share that when he received his first salary while working with Harsh Beniwal, he placed it in his father’s hands. At the time, his father, a respected teacher, was urging him to take admission in an engineering college. That’s when Purav decided to talk to him about what he was actually doing and who he was working with. When his father asked about his work, Purav Jha revealed that he had been acting in YouTube videos, and it was being appreciated by the audience.
After watching a video in which Purav was dressed as a girl, his father jokingly called it “launda nach”, a popular act during weddings in Bihar. Still, he gave Purav six months to test the stability of this path, with the condition that if it didn’t work out, he would return to his studies.
His father finally accepted his career choice when his students asked him to call Purav so that they could take pictures with him. Witnessing that fan moment made his father realise that Purav wasn’t losing respect; instead, he was earning it. That was the validation Purav had been waiting for. It gave him the confidence to fully pursue a career in content creation. The best moment for Purav was when people started calling his father “Purav ke Papa,” a gesture that made him feel truly proud and fulfilled.
Purav Never Talked In Hindi At His Home
Purav’s hometown is in Bihar, and he shared that his entire family is wholeheartedly Bihari. He mentioned that he never spoke in Hindi at home. Purav proudly said that his Maithili is commendable, and he always communicates with his family in that language. He added, “Mere ghar wale full power Bihari hain.” People in Delhi often find it hard to believe he’s from Bihar because of his fluent Hindi, yet in his hometown, the villagers never called him a “sheher ka ladka.”
He even shared his hilarious ‘Bachpan Ke School Ka Kaand.’ To know about it, you need to catch the full episode on our Curly Tales YouTube channel.
