Summer season is here and so, is the time when most people in the UAE decide to travel with their loved ones. However, according to travel agents across the country, this year most of the residents are opting to stay locally, for a staycation. They’re choosing the concept of luxury for less, which has quite a few advantages. Here’s all about this!

More UAE Residents Are Preferring Staycations!

Recently, travel trends in the UAE have seen a bit of a shift among travellers. In a report by Khaleej Times, it was revealed that more UAE travellers are now preferring staycation! A major reason for this has been attributed to the fact that there are rising travel expenses and increasing challenges in obtaining visas. As it happens, this trend has also been observed by many travel agents across the country. Travel agents have opined in the report that one of the biggest advantages of staying in the country has been given to the concept of luxury for less. Yes, under this holiday concept, people get to spend a lavish holiday locally, without having to splurge on flights and visas. As a result, this in turn increases their budget for hotels and activities!

For Travellers, Visa-Free Destinations Are A Top Choice!

In fact, many travellers have decided to stay back in the country and enjoy a blissful holiday in the UAE. One such traveller had spent the Eid holidays in Fujairah as they weren’t travelling but wanted a change in the scenery! So, when they received an excellent deal, they made the most out of it. As such, many holiday homes have revealed that they have remained over 60% occupied during the season on weekdays and this rose to 90% on the weekend! However, there are still a few people who are preferring outbound travel!

Yes, the travel agents expect that the second wave of travellers jetting off to other destinations shall begin in August. Some of the popular countries in demand this year, happen to be visa-free destinations! These include names like Azerbaijan, Turkey, Georgia, and Thailand. So, it’s hardly surprising that the length of stay has extended from 7 to 10 days to 10 to 14 days!
