According To A Study, This Website Offers The Cheapest Hotel Rate
InsureMyTrip is a travel insurance company and they conducted a study on comparing hotel rates in 950 hotels spread over 19 international countries. They took these hotels and compared every hotel rate on the top 3 booking websites and also the website of these hotels. Surprisingly, Hotels.com and Expedia.com had a very neck-to-neck competition. Hotels.com somehow managed to surpass the other website by showing the cheapest hotel rate in 620 places which are about 69% of the time and Expedia.com showed the cheapest rate 579 times which is about 58%.

The study suggests that to find a hotel at the cheapest rate, Hotels.com provide the best deals. The difference between the two aforementioned websites is very less. Another website that is also a part of the study is Booking.com. It showed a hotel with the cheapest rate in 72 instances and it is almost 7%.

This extensive study of so many hotels in 19 cities globally showed quite useful results. And this can help the travellers to eventually decide where they can book their hotels the next time. Using Hotels.com, travellers can book a hotel at the cheapest rate in New York. They will get the cheapest rates in NYC 62% of the time. They can find the cheapest rates 66% of the time in Boston and 62% of the time in Honolulu. They can even book hotels directly at the cheapest rates in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Washington D.C. Interestingly, the study revealed that the posted hotel rates differed on an average by less than $10 each night in Hong Kong, Bangkok, Macau, Kuala Lumpur, and Istanbul.
