The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation or the BMC is arguably one of the most considerate and consistent government bodies. Considerate because they know that all through the year, Mumbaikars work tirelessly at their jobs. They also understand that not everyone has the time and money to experience waterparks. So, each year, to give Mumbaikars a break from the monotony, it recreates (or inadvertently helps recreate) the experience of waterparks in the city itself. And consistent because come monsoon, you can be sure of at least one such experience. So this World Tourism Day, we are just bringing to your (and their) notice the waterpark phenomenon that comes in waves to the City of Dreams. From lazy rivers to exciting slides, you’ll find that this fun is impossible to escape, try as you might!
Mumbai Waterpark mein rahoonga main, ghar nahi jaunga main!
This World Tourism Day, Visit The Annual Mumbai Waterpark
If you or someone you know has lived in Mumbai, then chances are that you’re not a stranger to this waterpark. From deep pools to shallow ones, the city has them all. You’ll be stunned as the bustling neighbourhoods of Kurla, Bandra, Andheri and Nalasopara (not exactly city limits) transform into thrilling aquatic sites and rides!
Office workers who live in satellite cities probably have the most unfair advantage because they get to have the most fun. It takes hours for them to reach home late into the night and they again get to experience the fun early next morning on their way back to work! Cuz, errmm, what is WFH when a thrilling ride along the commute awaits everyone?!
The entire infrastructure of the city is smartly designed to accommodate this waterpark experience. Train tracks transform into wave pools, roads into rivers and bridges into slides! The city’s most notable waterpark (borderline underwater) experience was on 26 July 2005. Since then, it seems that the authorities are hellbent on recreating that fun for everyone.
And, they leave no stone unturned for that to happen. In any case, those stones can’t even fill the potholes, so what’s the point?! And why should they? The bumps on the roads add to the thrill of feeling like an Olympian. FUN!!!!
You Cannot Escape The “Fun,” It Is Everywhere!
Unless you’re an extremely privileged person who doesn’t work or has significant sway in your workplace, you cannot escape this fun experience. As a matter of fact, people lose their lives over this waterpark!
Why just the day before yesterday, four people died due to rain-related incidents! So this World Tourism Day, thank BMC for giving us a refreshing break from monotony. They work hard every year to bring us bigger, more adventurous waterpark experiences and for that, we can rely on them completely!

Feel free to add your two cents because actual cents (taxpayers’ money) that help keep this city’s infrastructure from crumbling (or should do) do not bear any visible results.
Don’t worry, you don’t have to do anything or book ‘tix’ on any online booking portal that crashes in seconds, Mumbai waterpark experience comes for everyone. And, it is 100% muft, muft, muft!
