Continuous overnight rainfall triggered landslides and mudslides at several locations between Nashri and Banihal in Jammu and Kashmir, leading to the suspension of traffic along the vital Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. A spokesperson from the traffic department stated that vehicular movement on both sides of the highway has been halted. Authorities have also urged commuters to avoid travelling on the route until the weather conditions improve and the road is made safe for passage.

Local authorities have assured that rescue operations are still underway. Furthermore, restoration work on the highway and affected infrastructure can only begin once the weather improves in the area.
