Mauni Amavasya which falls on the new moon (Amavasya) day of Magha is of profound spiritual significance in Hinduism. It marks a day of deep introspection, ancestral reverence, and divine connection. It is believed that on this day celestial energies are at their peak, making it an auspicious occasion for seeking virtue and salvation.

Devotees observe silence (maun) as a form of spiritual discipline, while millions gather to take a sacred dip in the Sangam—the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mystical Saraswati—believing it cleanses past sins and pave the path to liberation.
