The idea of working while travelling has become more and more popular in recent years. People frequently work remotely in order to combine their work and travel needs. Kazakhstan has taken a considerate step in assisting working and travelling individuals. To appeal to the growing number of remote workers globally, Kazakhstan has launched a new visa category named the Neo Nomad visa, which is intended for “digital nomads”—foreign visitors who work remotely while on the move. With the Neo Nomad visa, Kazakhstan hopes to become a popular travel destination for more than 35 million digital nomads worldwide.
Key Highlights Of Kazakhstan’s Neo Nomad Visa
Kazakhstan intends to establish itself as a major destination for remote workers looking for a blend of culture, adventure, and productivity. The announcement was made in response to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s directive. In an effort to diversify its economy, Kazakhstan is granting the Neo Nomad visa, which permits digital nomads to reside in the nation for a maximum of one year while working for foreign corporations.
By providing a one-year visa for people working in industries including software development, marketing, finance, consultancy, and e-commerce, Kazakhstan is capitalising on the expanding trend of flexible work arrangements and lifestyles.
If you’re worried that this Neo Nomad visa would endanger Kazakhstani individuals’ access to employment prospects, then don’t worry. In addition to allowing tourists to remain in Kazakhstan, the visa guarantees that they won’t compete with locals for jobs.
Requirements To Acquire This Visa
One essential requirement for applicants is that they must work for a foreign company. Candidates must prove they have a consistent source of income outside of Kazakhstan of at least USD 3,000 (more than ₹2 lakh) to be eligible for the Neo Nomad visa. During the application procedure, visa applicants must present proof of health insurance and a clean criminal record.
This program, according to Yerbol Myrzabossynov, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Tourism and Sports, is a major step in making Kazakhstan a destination for modern nomads, as reported by the Times of India.
