We all know Lakshadweep as a picturesque island with serene beaches. However, it seems like the place will lose its charm soon, thanks to tourists littering the beautiful beaches there. An Indian tourist recently posted a video that showed liquor bottles littered around the beach in Lakshadweep. Needless to say, netizens had a lot to say about this video.
Video Shows Liquor Bottles Littered On Lakshadweep Beach
Pragya Gupta (@pragsss30) took to Instagram to share a video from her vacation in Lakshadweep. While she was in awe of the beauty of the island, she couldn’t help but notice the littering around the beach. She found liquor bottles all around the shore and shared her disappointment with a video highlighting the issue on social media.
“So, why as Indians, we cannot progress in terms of tourism, very sad,” she said as she showed bottles thrown all over a beach in Lakshadweep. She shows how Lakshadweep’s scenic beauty is being marred by discarded liquor bottles. “This is where all your views get spoiled!” she said.
In the caption, she added, “India, a country of diverse landscapes and cultures, has long been a favourite destination for travellers. In recent years, two aspects have become more prominent in shaping the vacation experience: cleanliness and alcohol consumption. Both have evolved from mere conveniences to central elements that significantly impact tourists’ perceptions and enjoyment of their holidays.”

It is indeed saddening to see how we are unable to protect the beauty of India. We agree with Pragya, unless we start appreciating and protecting our country, our tourism sector can never flourish. Share your two cents on this in the comments.
