Yes, with a crazy inflow of tourists about 30,000 vehicles have entered in the last 48 hours.
Shimla Experiences A Huge Inflow Of Tourists
Shimla city police stated that over the last 48 hours, Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla has seen a huge inflow of tourists. About 30,000 vehicles have entered the city by far. As the temperatures in the lowlands are increasing, people escaped the heat and enjoyed their weekend in Shimla’s pleasant weather.
The city police are expecting the number to rise by 4000 to 5000 in the coming days. The tourists are enjoying the pleasant weather in the hill city after months of scorching heat.
The hotels are also running at their full capacity for tourists. They are flocking from Haryana, Delhi, Chandigarh, Punjab and other parts of the country.
Long-term visitors are exploring other areas of the city as well as the Himalayan region of Kinnaur.

Tourism Is Expected To See A Boost
All the tourism stakeholders are expecting tourism to see a boost as the people flocking to Shimla are already huge in number. The city saw less number of tourists this winter season as there was very less snowfall which is one of the reasons why people come here. Hence these tourism stakeholders expect the summer time to be a recovery period for them.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Shimla District Police, Sanjay Kumar Gandhi, spoke about the vehicular traffic capacity of the Victoria tunnel. He said that the capacity of this tunnel is 20 to 27 vehicles per minute which have now doubled.
