The vibrant festival is certainly a foodies’ heaven as they’re offering what’s said to be the first and the biggest seafood boat, at its restaurant. Kovalam is a beautiful restaurant that’s nestled in the President Hotel Dubai. The 26-year-old Indian restaurant is known for offering multi-cuisine delicacies, however, its primary focus is on the coastal Indian regions. Hosting a vibrant Kerala Food Festival till July 31, they are offering a menu that’s been crafted by Chef Vinod Naik. Featuring an area of authentic Kerala dishes including both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, these are absolutely worth trying.

It Will Feature The First Kerala Seafood Boat

However, the highlight of the festival is the seafood specialities, which include fresh daily catches, rice specialities, and the first-ever Kerala seafood boat in Dubai. The seafood boat is 100 centimetres in length and 34 cm in breadth and is priced at AED399. Called the Vallam Boat, this is basically a platter that features a variety of coastal delicacies and beverages. In fact, it features 10 varieties of coaching seafood and signature beverages, all of which are served in the giant wooden boat, making for a delicious albeit Instagrammable meal.

Coming to the menu, guests will be able to enjoy a mouth-watering range of dishes including everything from Betel Leaf Wrapped Chicken and Trivandrum Stuffed Nandu to Duck Roast with Kallappam and Niracha Khozi Curry. They are also offering desserts, which include Raggi Pudding Ice Cream and Palada Payasam.

In fact, during the Kerala Food Festival, every day there will be an add-on menu, which will be dedicated to one of the 14 districts of Kerala. From Kasaragod and Wayanad to Malappuram and Thrissur, you will find highlights from each of these districts on the menu, such as Karimeen Fry, Kappa Vevichathu, and Appam & Mutton Stew.

But if you think that’s the only thing you need to watch out, you couldn’t be more wrong. Guests can also engage in special events like cultural performances. Workshops are interesting topics like spice mixing and traditional crafts will also be offered at the premises. In fact, they will be treated to the melodious strains of traditional Kerala music such as Carnatic music and Sopana Sangeetham.
