At Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, tow trucks are used to load all the bags and luggage inside the plane. The same happened on Tuesday as well. After loading everything, the tow truck accidentally banged one of the engines during pushback. The truck driver lost the balance and this led to the tow truck’s rear strike with the flight engine, according to a report by India TV News. A total of 140 passengers were inside the Vistara Airbus A320 and it was almost ready to take off from the runway as well. But the unfortunate incident changed the scheduled plan.

Officials stated that all the passengers were safe and no one suffered any such injuries due to the tow truck hitting incident. The flight has been grounded after the bang to repair it and also conduct any checks and tests. A Vistara spokesperson shared that an alternate flight was arranged right after the accident so that no passengers face many inconveniences. The spokesperson was quoted saying, “As always, safety of our customers and crew is most important to Vistara”, according to a report by News 18.

The collision was surely a scary experience for the passengers onboard. The sudden hit between the tow truck and one of the engines of the Vistara flight resulted in cancelling that aircraft and later flying an alternate one. The good news here is that no one had to face any major injuries and everyone deboarded that flight in a safe situation.
