Travel To Taiwan & Get Rewards Upto ₹13,000 Each. Here’s How

Though travel is on the rise, many people still avoid destinations that require long-haul flights to reach them. Looking at this, these destinations are leaving no stone unturned to entice tourists to visit their country. Walking along the same lines is Taiwan. This country in east Asia will offer 50,000 tourists a handout of ₹13,000 (NT$5,000) each, as per its announcement on Thursday.

Taiwan Is Offering Rewards To Tourists

Taiwan is trying to increase its post-pandemic travel industry and boost spending. For this, it will be offering cash or discount incentives to the tourists. Apart from offering  ₹13,000 (NT$5,000) to 50,000 tourists, they will also offer allowances up to  ₹54,000 (NT$20,000) to around 90,000 tour groups. The plan also includes a proposal that states giving travel agencies NT$10,000 each for groups of at least eight tourists and NT$20,000 each for groups of at least 15 tourists.

The government of Taiwan plans to welcome six million tourists in 2023, double that number in 2024, and strive for ten million visitors by 2025, according to Premier Chen Chien-jen’s announcement on Thursday. Wang Kuo-tsai, the transport minister, announced on Wednesday that the cash allowance would be distributed online. It can be used by visitors to Taiwan to pay for their expenditures, including accommodations.

Attracting Visitors From Key Countries

The transport minister said that the efforts are aimed at attracting visitors from countries like South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, Europe, Macau, and America. Taiwan removed COVID-19 restrictions last year and is looking for ways to boost its economy. For the time being, the trade-dependent country is experiencing a drop in exports, implying that growth will be slow in 2023.

This is why they have to make sure that domestic activities and tourism see a boost. Other measures taken to boost tourism include opening borders for individual travellers from Macau and Hong Kong. The lawmakers still have to sign after checking where all the funds will be used. The officials might release more details about the broader package soon.
