Booking bus and metro tickets is all set to get easier in Bengaluru! The city is set to get the upgraded ‘Namma BMTC 2.0 app’. The new and upgraded platform will allow commuters to easily book bus and Namma Metro tickets, track their buses and make digital payments smoothly. Here’s how this works and what a commuter needs to know.
Namma BMTC 2.0 App To Offer Bus And Metro Ticket Booking
The Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) is almost ready to launch the Namma BMTC 2.0 app. The new platform will offer features like unified ticket booking, live bus tracking and digital payments for public transport in Bengaluru. According to Moneycontrol, the app is expected to be launched on September 10, 2026. The new version of this app was quite needed, as the existing Namma BMTC app offers only bus-tracking services and has faced several technical glitches.
The new app will allow a commuter to easily book bus and Namma Metro tickets. Plus, they will also be able to track buses. Payments also get easier. The app will offer a feature to make digital payments through a wallet, UPI or cards. Commuters will also be able to purchase mobile tickets and monthly passes, eliminating the need to get physical tickets.
The wallet feature in the app allows users to add money in advance to enable faster payments. It will also allow commuters to use the wallet when they are low on cash and during times of no internet connectivity.
