Due to the tense situation in the Middle East, many flights have been affected. Some have been rescheduled globally, while most from the Gulf Cooperation Council nations stand cancelled. Amid these cancellations, there are airlines that are running some limited flights to help out passengers. Oman is one of those countries where flights are operating. So people from around the country are travelling via road to fly to their home countries. In view of these circumstances, the Indian Embassy, which is in Muscat, has reiterated the visa requirements for Indian nationals who wish to enter Oman.
Indian Embassy In Oman Reiterates Visa Requirements
Taking to X, the Indian Embassy of Oman reiterated the visa requirements for Indians who wish to enter Oman. Before someone can obtain a visit/tourist visa, travellers must apply for an e-visa in advance. They can do so through the authorised travel agents on the Royal Oman Police website. An on-arrival visa is also available to Indian passport holders who have a valid visa or residence permit from the UK, the USA, Canada, Schengen countries or Japan. In fact, they can also enter for up to 14 days without a pre-arranged visa, given they have a return ticket, health insurance, and hotel booking in place.

Who Is Eligible For Visa-On-Arrival?
Indian citizens who reside in GCC countries, such as Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia, and hold valid residence cards, are also eligible for visa-on-arrival. Holders of such valid residence cards from GCC countries need to obtain a visit visa before they enter Oman. So, make sure that your passport is valid for at least six months before you apply for the visa.
Oman Air and Salam Air are operating flights for stranded travellers. In fact, in a recent notification on X, Oman Air mentioned how travellers who wish to travel with the airline must arrive at the border crossing at least 12 hours before their scheduled departure. This has been mentioned as traffic volumes continue to remain high and processing times might exceed.
