Nature is unpredictable, and that is its beauty! This unpredictability also adds a dose of thrill to our travel, which in turn makes it even more memorable! Recently, Sachin Tendulkar took his fans on a thrilling throwback to his Maasai Mara trip in Kenya. The God of cricket shared a throwback video on how his plane had to battle stormy weather and even circle the skies twice as a herd of wildebeest blocked the runway.
Sachin Tendulkar’s Adventurous Maasai Mara Trip
Former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar took to Instagram to share a throwback video of his Maasai Mara adventures. In the video, the slightly soaked and clearly cold cricket legend points at an approaching storm, which apparently was the place his aircraft was supposed to originally land. However, the pilots decided to land at another place to avoid the bad weather.
“We were literally two miles away from the landing strip…because the weather was bad, we could not land. We had to come and land somewhere else,” he is seen sharing in the throwback video. And wait, that’s not all! To make things more dramatic for his Maasai Mara trip, Sachin Tendulkar shared that there was a herd of wildebeest blocking the runway where they eventually planned to land!
An Adventure Worth Remembering
“Wildebeests were on the runway! Do baar hum niche aaye, and we could not land because the wildebeests were there. Finally, the runway got cleared and we landed,” he added. Pointing to his soaked clothes and shivering slightly from the chill, the relief on his face was unmistakable! Sachin Tendulkar jokingly adds that his group was waiting for jeeps to pick them up, and if they didn’t make it because of the weather, they would have to stay at the temporary shelter they found in the Maasai Mara.
In the caption of the video, he wrote, “The wild has its own way of welcoming you, always! A little off course, still on track for fun.”
We are loving Sachin Tendulkar’s travel diaries! His posts inspire us to travel more and see the world with our loved ones.
