USA: Small Plane, With 4 Onboard, Crashes Into Parked Aircraft At Montana Airport, Triggering Blaze

On Monday, a small plane carrying four people crashed into a parked aircraft while landing at Kalispell City Airport in Montana, USA. The incident triggered a large fire, and visuals online captured dramatic plumes of smoke and bursts of fire erupting from the crash site.

Small Plane Crashes Into Parked Plane In Montana, USA

According to NDTV, a small, single-engine plane crashed while landing at a Montana airport in the US on Monday, hitting a parked aircraft. It was a single-engine plane, attempting to land at the airport on Monday at about 2 PM. The aircraft was carrying four people when it hit the parked plane on the runway.

A preliminary investigation of the incident showed that the pilot of the small plane lost control while attempting to land. This caused the aircraft to crash onto the runway before the plane struck several parked aircraft. As per the Kalispell police, the collision ignited fires on multiple parked aircraft. Furthermore, the fire also spread to a grassy area before it was doused by the authorities.

Eyewitnesses of the plane crash in Montana reported that the aircraft crash-landed at the end of the runway. It quickly lost control and hit another aircraft, the Kalispell Fire Chief Jay Hagen confirmed.

No Injuries Reported

Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported in the Montana plane crash. As per reports, two people were able to get out of the aircraft on their own after it came to a stop, sustaining no injuries. However, the other two were slightly hurt. They were carefully taken out of the plane and were provided with medical aid at the airport.

As per the National Transportation Safety Board, the flight originated in Pullman, Washington. The Federal Aviation Administration identified the aircraft involved in the Montana plane crash as a Socata TBM 700 turboprop, built in 2011 and owned by Meter Sky LLC of Pullman. So far, the company has not commented or responded to this incident.
