Anand Mahindra, like always, enthralled his followers with his latest food and travel diaries. This time, the Mahindra honcho visited Venice and was enamoured by the Italian city’s thriving food scene. Sharing pictures of a cosy eatery, he extended a tip to everyone planning a trip to Venice. “Don’t miss Al Covino for lunch or dinner,” wrote Anand Mahindra.

He explained that Al Covino is a tiny 7-seater restaurant in Venice. It’s run by the new management, a couple, Claudio and Claudia. Five months ago, the couple gave the restaurant a new life after its takeover. And three months ago, they gifted themselves a new life by getting married. Anand Mahindra was highly impressed by not just the food at this cosy eatery but by the hospitality as well.

7-Seater Restaurant Serving Neopolitan & Venetian Dishes
He called the owners, warm and friendly and described his experience as a “guest in the kitchen of their home”. When it comes to the food, he called it “outstanding.” Elaborating, Mahindra said the food had an astonishing combination of flavours and ingredients both sourced and named with affection. Located in Castello, the heart of Venice, the website of Al Covino describes its dining experience as a “journey between north and south Italy.”
At the humble eatery, guests can feast on a meal prepared with simple and high-quality ingredients. It’s a contemporary interpretation of Venetian and Neopolitan cuisines. Anand Mahindra shared a picture of the delicious and beautifully plated dishes he devoured at the Venetian restaurant.
