Dubai RTA Rolls Out A Plan For Students As They Go ‘Back-To-School’ For New Session; Details Inside

As students around the UAE gear up to return to school for the new academic session, Dubai RTA has already made a comprehensive plan. Yes, they have unveiled this plan to ensure there is traffic safety as the new academic year 2025-2026 begins on Monday, August 25. From a slew of traffic improvements around schools to innovative awareness initiatives, here’s all you need to know about their comprehensive plan.

Dubai RTA Unveils Plans For Back-To-School

Dubai RTA has unveiled its comprehensive plan to ensure everything happens smoothly as the students return to school for the new academic session. The steps include a package of traffic improvements around the school. These efforts are a part of the RTA’s commitment, which aims to promote traffic safety awareness amongst the students. This also forms a key pillar of the Dubai traffic safety strategy. With the awareness programmes aimed to create awareness, through key pillar initiatives that have been designed for different age groups.

School Programmes Announced For Students

Talking about these initiatives, students who are in middle school can benefit from the ‘Golden Rules for Generations’ Safety’ programme. While those in kindergarten will benefit from the ‘Hello, My School’ programme. The primary school children will also benefit from this program. For high school students, there is a ‘Virtual Driving Licence’ programme.

Not only this, there are also school programmes that aim to support major school events. Yes, they plan to distribute educational gifts at the start of the academic year. These will feature a QR code, which will link to digital designs that present traffic safety instructions.

Proper Guidance On Safety Practices

They have also partnered with Dubai Police to support traffic safety in school zones. This is to ensure the safety of all the students and education staff in Dubai. To support this, they will offer proper guidance on safety practices to drivers and parents who would be dropping off and picking up students. Through their collaborative efforts, Dubai Police has reported zero fatalities since 2010, when it comes to traffic-related incidents.

Not only this, but the authorities are also expanding their network of electronic signboards. This is especially near school to display the vehicle speed along with modifications, which encourages motorists to reduce speed and wear their seatbelts.

With the intensive campaign to ensure their safety of students, the RTA is truly doing everything in its power to ensure the first day goes smoothly.
