For the first time in its 147-year history, this landmark in Melbourne will transform into a vibrant hub of festivities, offering visitors a unique opportunity to experience the sights, sounds, and flavours of the holy month in a truly historic setting.

Queen Victoria Market has joined hands with the City of Melbourne and the Islamic Council of Victoria to celebrate “community, culture, and the spirit of togetherness” with this Ramadan Market. It will take place in C Shed on February 20 and 21 between 5 and 10 PM (local time).

As per the market’s website, this festive night market will feature halal-certified food traders, where visitors can feast on traditional favourites and contemporary flavours perfect for Iftar. From rendang by Dapurnyabubu and nasi kuning from Diana’s Kitchen to balik ekmek by Seaside Bites and jollof chicken from Amas Delight, there’s plenty to delight your taste buds.

You can also shop to your heart’s content at numerous retail stalls offering handmade glass evil eyes, heritage and printed hijabs, and abayas. What’s more, a range of free amenities and activities will make the evening even more special. Visitors can enjoy complimentary dates and water for Iftar, calligraphy demonstrations and activations, kids’ face painting, and much more. The organisers have also arranged a dedicated prayer space for attendees.
