For The First Time In 10 Years, Egypt Raises Single-Entry Visa Fee To $45!

Egypt is a beautiful country with an absolutely rich history and culture. And it seems that now travelling to the country will become a little more expensive. Yes, we say this because it was recently announced in a report of the Travel and Tour World that Egypt has raised the single-entry visa fee to $45. Here’s all you need to know about the development.

Egypt Raises Single-Entry Visa Fee

As revealed in the aforementioned report, the single-entry visa fee is now set at $45. Yes, this is a major revision to the financial landscape. Moreover, the regulatory change has now shifted the required payment from the previous amount of $25. This was officially sanctioned via a presidential decree. The necessary documents, which initiated the fee structure, were affixed with the signature of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on November 30th.

This Change Comes After 10 Years

The Gulf News also reported that this measure of increasing the visa fee takes place for the first time in 10 years. The new fee structure comies into effect immediately. Additionally, this is a part of the legislative amendment to Law Number 175 of 2025. These concerns of the fee allocated to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its facilities. The fee was last raised back in 2014, when it was increased from $15 to $25.

It Is For A Single-Entry Tourist Visa

This fee is for a single-entry tourist visa, and it is being maintained for a considerable period. Offering a degree of price stability for tour operators and independent travellers alike, this is a substantial increase, with there being an 80% rise. At this point, it should be said that such visa charges are usually utilised by countries that are seeking to boost their non-tax revenues. When it comes to Egypt, it is being speculated that this is driven by the desire to provide supplementary funding for ambitious national projects.
