Being away from home for travel can be exciting, but finding yourself in the middle of a war while travelling can be deeply unsettling. Unfortunately, that is what happened to Indian travel creator Soumil Agarwal (@soumilvlogs), who is currently in Israel and took to social media to share his experience of being amid the ongoing conflict. Scroll down to see his experience.
Indian Stranded In Israel During The War Shares His Experience
In February, Soumil Agarwal was travelling in Israel like many other tourists. However, on February 28, he woke up not to an alarm clock but to sirens warning of a possible war. He later confirmed with the hotel staff that the sirens sounding outside and the alerts on his phone were indeed related to the situation. The moment he shared on social media brought with it a sense of anxiety that is difficult to put into words.
In the video, he spoke about hearing explosions, the sound of sirens, the smell in the air, and the experience of staying in shelters, while sharing what it was like to be in a country facing a war-like situation. In the clip titled “Indian Stuck in Israel During War,” he was seen asking the hotel staff about the protocol they follow in such situations and what steps he should take next while staying in Israel.

Sirens, Anxiety And The Ordeal
The hotel staff instructed Soumil Agarwal to move to either a shelter or the stairway whenever he heard the sirens. In the video, he also showed what these shelters looked like and mentioned that many people preferred staying in the stairway, which is where he stayed as well, because it felt better as there were many people there.
The Indian travel creator added that he has been interacting with local people in Israel, noting that their company helped lift his mood and describing them as “sweet.” He further shared that his initial anxiety has eased over the past few days, all thanks to the positive energy of the locals and others staying at the hotel. In the caption, he added, “I am stuck alone here in Israel during the war, and it’s weird to say this BUT… what a crazy experience! Hopefully, everything will be fine soon.”
