But nature worked its magic yet again as the Northern Lights illuminated skies over European regions, including the UK, Germany, and France, and surprisingly, even Australia. Northern Lights Dazzle Skies Across UK, Germany, France & Australia
On Monday and Tuesday, parts of Europe and Australia saw stunning Northern Lights brightening up the skies. The rare and spectacular phenomenon left residents of the United Kingdom, Germany, and France in Europe stunned.
People took to social media to share awe-inspiring pictures and videos of bright pinks, purples, reds, and greens brightening up the skies. In Australia, the auroras borealis were visible across Tasmania, Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales, and Queensland.
The BBC reported that the rare sight was seen across Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. Furthermore, residents of south-west, southern, eastern and northern England also saw the stunning sight on Monday night.
As per Euronews, the rare sight of Northern Lights was seen on Monday and Tuesday nights from Hamburg to Munich in Germany.

What Caused This Rare Sight?
According to Travel and Tour World, Earth has been experiencing a severe geomagnetic storm since January 20, 2026, triggered by a massive coronal mass ejection (CME) from the Sun on January 18. It is being described as the largest solar storm in more than two decades.
As per the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, there has been a mass eruption of charged particles that left the sun on Sunday and arrived on Earth on Monday and Tuesday. Thanks to the storm’s intense strength, northern lights were visible as far south as the Alps.
