IndiGo is set to expand its domestic network this winter. The airline has announced two new routes connecting tier-2 and tier-3 cities. The move aims to make regional air travel more accessible and to give more options for both business and leisure travellers. Here’s all you need to know.
IndiGo Expands Its Domestic Network With New Routes
IndiGo will now operate daily direct flights between Jaipur and Guwahati. A daily service will also run between Jaipur and Imphal with a short layover in Guwahati. As per a report by The Economic Times, Varanasi will also get better connectivity. The city will now see direct thrice-weekly flights to Durgapur and thrice-weekly flights to Bhubaneswar via Durgapur. Reportedly, seasonal daily flights between Bengaluru and Jaisalmer are also being added to the schedule.
Vinay Malhotra, head of sales at IndiGo, told The Economic Times that these new routes are in line with the airline’s commitment to enhance domestic connectivity across tier-2 and tier-3 cities. He added that with these new flights, IndiGo also aims to open new avenues for trade, tourism, and cultural exchange.
