At this point, we aren’t even surprised! The World Happiness Report 2026 is out, and once again, Finland has secured the top spot. In fact, the rankings continue to be dominated by Nordic countries. Finland Is, Once Again, The Happiest Country In The World!

According to Forbes, the annual World Happiness Report ranks countries based on factors like social support, life expectancy, freedom, generosity, and perceptions of corruption. Released around the International Day of Happiness, it evaluates how people in over 140 countries rate their own lives.

Not surprisingly, Finland has once again emerged as the happiest country in the world, for the ninth consecutive year. With an average life satisfaction score of 7.764, Finland has once again topped the list. Interestingly, Nordic nations continue to dominate the rankings, with Iceland in second place, Denmark in third, Sweden in fifth, and Norway in sixth.

If you noticed the missing fourth spot, it’s because Costa Rica made a standout entry in the list of the happiest countries in 2026. The Latin American nation has seen a steady rise since 2023, climbing from 23rd place that year to fourth in the World Happiness Report 2026. It’s also worth noting that Switzerland has re-entered the top 10 at No. 10 after dropping out last year.
