According to People magazine, Xscape’s Tamika Scott surprised a waitress at Juicy Crab in Buford, Georgia, by giving her a $700 tip. The reason? The singer shared in an Instagram post that she and her daughter were ignored by at least four waitresses when they entered the restaurant. They were standing by the door for five minutes, and the staff ignored them.
Finally, one waitress came over to help and showed them an available table. In the reel, Tamika Scott said that she saw some staff members whispering and said, “Never judge a book by its cover. Be nice to everybody.” She then went on to share that because the young waitress was kind, she was “going to bless her.”
The video then shows her counting a stack of cash that makes for about $700 and giving it to the server, calling it “a small token of love.”

It Doesn’t Take Much To Be Kind!
The video also shows the waitress’s reaction to the massive $700 tip from Tamika Scott. She can be heard asking the iconic singer, “Are you guys sure?” and “Thank you guys so much! I genuinely appreciate that. Y’all just made my night.”
The R&B singer then tells her, “Stay who you are. Don’t let anybody ever change you. God bless you”
Thousands of people commented on Tamika Scott’s post. They lauded the young girl for her kindness and called her a “beautiful soul” and how the singer taught the other servers at the restaurant a “life lesson many need to learn.”
