Fossils Of  Southeast Asia’s Largest Dinosaur Discovered In Thailand

Roughly 113 million years ago, in a region which is now called Thailand, lived Nagatitan chaiyaphumensis, the largest known dinosaur from Southeast Asia. This plant-eating species was known for its long neck, long tail, small head, and four column-like legs. It roamed the Earth long before humans existed. The discovery was confirmed by scientists from University College London.

In a surprising new discovery, researchers found skeletal remains of Nagatitan, a member of the dinosaur lineage called sauropods, in Thailand. According to The Hindu, the fossils of this animal were first spotted in the northeastern province of Chaiyaphum. The discovery made scientists curious, and they spent a couple of years digging up its spine, ribs, pelvis, and leg bones. The head and teeth were not discovered. Reportedly, this dinosaur probably consumed large amounts of vegetation such as conifers and seed ferns.
