Sharjah Charity Inaugurates AED1.8 Billion Mosque In Kalba

The Sharjah Charity International officially inaugurated the Martyr Mohammed Ismail Al Bloushi Mosque in the Al Saf region of Kalba. The AED1.8-million project will host approximately 700 worshippers, which will enhance the religious life of the community.

Prayer halls are crowded during Ramadan, particularly when it comes to Taraweeh prayers and late evening services. Kalba has just got a great new landmark just before the holy month.

Community‑Focused Initiative In Sharjah

Gulf News reports that the mosque was built together with the Sharjah Department of Islamic Affairs. The partnership demonstrates the way in which charitable and government bodies may be involved in the joint delivery of projects with the direct benefit of residents.

The inauguration was attended by senior officials: Shaikh Haitham Al Qasimi, the Deputy Head of the Ruler’s Office in Kalba, and Dr Issa bin Handhal, Chairman of Sharjah Department of Islamic Affairs. The local community members also attended and displayed a strong interest in the project.

The mosque contains approximately 700 men and women. The emphasis of designers was on space, comfort, and movement. The way the prayer rows are arranged makes the worshippers enter, do the ablution and go round without any congestion.

The architecture is a combination of ancient Islamic themes and contemporary elements. The outside features a combination of domes and minarets, and the natural light illuminates the prayer hall, creating a peaceful and invigorating environment.

Year-Round Service Facilities

Besides the main prayer hall, the mosque also provides fully equipped ablution rooms and toilets. It also has a committed imam house, which provides unmistakable religious direction and community involvement throughout the year.

Ramadan Gives It Even Greater Significance

The opening of the mosque during Ramadan makes it more meaningful. The holy month is attended by large numbers of people as families come together to say nightly prayers and communities reunite.

The intended use of the Martyr Mohammed Ismail Al Bloushi Mosque will be based on a dual purpose, both as a worship centre and as a community centre to the residents of Al Saf and the surrounding communities.
