Staff Use Master Key To Enter 5-Star Hotel Room In Jaipur; Woman Raises Safety Concerns

A Delhi woman’s post on X is going viral. She recently narrated her experience with her family at the Hyatt Regency Jaipur Mansarovar hotel. The family, who had stepped out for dinner, claimed that they “found two unknown adults” inside their booked room. This incident left them furious and questioning the hotel staff. Here’s the entire incident in detail.

Staff Entered The Room With A Master Key

Travelling to another city does not just involve planning an itinerary. It also means booking a hotel that meets our expectations. But what happens when even an expensive hotel leaves you disappointed? And not because of poor service, but because of a breach of privacy. A woman named Janhavi Jain has alleged exactly that.

She claimed on X that her family had booked eight rooms at the Hyatt Regency Jaipur Mansarovar hotel. On Monday evening, January 12, between 6:30 pm and 7:30 pm, two hotel staff members allegedly used a master key to enter one of their rooms. According to her post, the room had already been cleaned, the family had not requested housekeeping, and no one had been informed.

Janhavi also mentioned that the staff knew the family was heading out for dinner and that most of their rooms were empty at the time. She further wrote that her six-year-old niece walked into the room and found two unknown adults inside. The child reportedly ran out crying and informed the family.

Family Questions Hotel Staff

The two unknown staff members were not wearing badges. Janhavi called the situation “unacceptable” and questioned the staff, who reportedly shrugged it off and said they were following protocol. She claimed that security supervisor Naveen Singh and Akshay refused to answer their questions, did not provide an explanation, took no accountability, did not show CCTV footage, and did not even apologise.

Janhavi also alleged that the General Manager, Naveen Yadav, said, “toh kya ho gaya agar enter ho gaye.” (So what if they entered?). She questioned this response and highlighted how unsafe such situations could be. She also raised concerns about the possibility of assault and questioned how two staff members could enter an occupied room using a master key. She also wrote, “This is what pissed us off the most. Not just that it happened, but how casually everyone treated it. Like, this was no big deal.”

In the comments, Janhavi mentioned that the Hyatt hotel team has reached out and will follow up within 72 hours. Netizens were quick to react. One user wrote, “This is terrible, did they respond after this post? I am a regular at Hyatt. So this is concerning,” while another commented, “This is extremely dreadful.” However, some users mentioned that such incidents are common even in reputed hotels, where staff use master keys to check for replenishments such as soaps, water, towels, minibar stock, etc.
