In a big development, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security has launched a streamlined system. This is especially beneficial for those who are looking to replace or renew their UAE ID. As a result, citizens who are looking to complete the process for this purpose for their Emirates ID can now just do it in a single step rather than going through a set of procedures.
Emirates ID Renewal & Replacement In One Step
As revised by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security, the new system makes renewal and replacement of the Emirates ID a lot easier. Not to mention, under the system, the validity period of the renewed ID will be determined on the basis of the applicant’s age automatically.
Same Approach As The Passport Services

It follows the same approach as the one used for passport services. So, citizens who are aged 21 and above will get IDs that will be valid for 10 years. However, those who are under the age of 21 will receive IDs while they are only valid for five years.

The updated process aims to make the administrative procedure a lot easier. Not to mention, it also aims to reduce waiting times and enhance the overall experience of the citizens. The single-step renewal and replacement system is already live. You can avail this across all the ICP service channels. Allowing a faster and more efficient management for Emiratis around the country, this major step truly enhances the services.
