Tulsi Kumar On Her Father’s Vision And Hard Work
Tulsi reflected deeply on the pivotal role her father, Gulshan Kumar, played in shaping the Indian music industry. Describing him as a “visionary,” she spoke about his relentless hard work and ability to recognise talent. She recounted how her father’s dedication was unparalleled. Even without knowing where the brand would reach, Gulshan Kumar’s foresight and determination turned T-Series into a global music powerhouse.
Tulsi shared, “I was just 11 when I lost my father, but his hard work and passion are something I’ve always had in the back of my mind. He was the one who wanted to see me become a singer. Today, I am living my father’s dream and trying to take his legacy forward.”
One of the highlights of the conversation was Tulsi’s revelation about her father’s exceptional ability to spot talent. She proudly mentioned, “Sonu Nigam ji, Anuradha Paudwal ji, Kumar Sanu ji—Papa spotted all of them. Today, they are the biggest names in the music world.

Personal Challenges And Continuing The Legacy
Losing her father at a young age was a defining moment for Tulsi. Despite the emotional challenges, she channelled her energy into making him proud. Tulsi said, “I just want to be even a fraction of what my dad was. If I can achieve that, I’ll feel I’ve accomplished something in life.”
Apart from being a celebrated singer, Tulsi Kumar is also an entrepreneur. She revealed her involvement in managing Kid’s Heart, a kids’ channel she started. Speaking about balancing these roles, she shared, “Being an artist, I’m very soft-hearted and emotional. But when it comes to being an entrepreneur, I’ve learned to take calculated decisions.”
