What’s In It?

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) decided to put up an adventure sports hub in the hillocks to attract a majority of city residents to find joy in outdoor activities in the rocks of the forest.

The forest includes a majority of eucalyptus trees, the orchids and the rocky terrains are for lianas, the most common being Opilia amentacea, they bloom during the summer and are mostly located in the Northern edge of the forest.

The forest also boasts fauna with animals like jackals, lizards, mongooses, etc. Turahalli is also famous for biking trails and trekking and it is the last surving natural terrain, a wilderness area close to Bengaluru.

A temple in the forest that is so serene and beautiful has been made accessible by a motorable road which worries everyone in the fear of cars disturbing the peace and its pristine beauty.

There are signs of encroachment and development seen in the forest area in the name of adventure sports that worry the citizens of Bengaluru as it will disturb the peace and environment of the last standing forest.
