The Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi is operated and managed by the DIAL consortium, which is led by GMR Airport Infrastructure Limited. The Andaz Delhi Hotel and Central Spine Road are connected by the 800-metre Aerocity Flyover. By creating a signal-free movement, the four-lane one-way flyover built at the intersection of the Aerocity metro station will shorten travel time from T1 to T3 of the IGI airport, according to a DIAL official.

According to him, the cargo terminal at the airport has a designated corridor with two lanes on both carriageways that spans 600 metres between Andaz Delhi and the Hanuman temple next to National Highway 48 (NH-48). He continued that the corridor will further help decongest the airport approach road. And it will separate heavy vehicular movement from passenger vehicles.

I Prabhakara Rao, the deputy group managing director of the GMR group, remarked during the opening ceremony that the GMR places a high priority on the passenger experience, which is seen in the numerous initiatives implemented at the Delhi airport.

But in their opinion, the traveller experience starts even before they arrive at the Delhi airport. In light of this, he said, two new flyovers have been built to facilitate travel to and from Delhi Airport and offer passengers a smooth experience.

Another Flyover Was inaugurated

On Sunday, the Chief Minister Of Delhi, Aravind Kejriwal, inaugurated the Sarai Kale Khan flyover. This three-lane flyover would provide a signal-free route to Delhi folks. At T-junction, there used to be backups. Now that this flyover is being built, folks won’t have to worry about it. The flypast has a length of 620 metres. We approved 66 crore rupees for this project, yet it cost only 50 crores to complete. The chief minister declared that they have saved money while making this project!

He further said that the ITO-Ashram commuters will benefit from the flyover. People may now commute without interruption thanks to the construction of the Ashram underpass, the DND extension, and now this flyover.

The government claims that the flyover will handle the volume of surface traffic from the Delhi-Meerut Expressway and ITO while freeing up space for local traffic and buses.

Atishi, a PWD minister who was travelling with the chief minister, claimed that the Chief Minister had transformed Delhi into a city of aspirations for the entire nation by providing the residents of Delhi with such magnificent infrastructure. Now, travellers won’t have to waste their valuable time stuck in traffic on their way to work or other destinations.
