What’s It?
The UAE is among the top nations, globally and regionally in terms of women empowerment. Azza Sulaiman, a member of the UAE’s Federal National Council, FNC, recently spoke at the fourth Women Police Regional Conference and said that Emirati women have stepped foot into all fields of work including military and police. She further added that they have in fact, been able to serve with competence in all the areas.
Sulaiman also claimed that 71% of UAE women are highly qualified and are also employed in jobs that demand high degrees and professional qualifications. Also, the country considers men and women to be equal and guarantees equal treatment for both genders in medical, social, health and domestic fields.
Lastly, she signed off saying Founding father of the nation, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, created a conducive environment for women to be independent in the region and our current leaders have been efficient enough to keep up the tradition.
