UAE Declares Week-Long Holiday For Public Sector For Eid Al-Fitr, 9-Day Holiday Ahead

With the holy month of Ramadan underway, people are waiting with a lot of excitement for Eid al-Fitr. And now, there is another reason why people will rejoice about it! Well, we say this because the UAE Government recently announced a one-week holiday for public sector employees. Here’s all about this extended holiday!

UAE Government Declares Eid Holidays

Taking to its official account on X (formerly Twitter), it was announced by the Government of the UAE that public sector employees will get a one-week long holiday for Eid al-Fitre. This announcement was made on Sunday, March 31 by the official account of the UAE Gov. In case you’re wondering about the holiday dates, the holiday begins on Monday, April 8 and will go on till April 14, Sunday.

Regular Working Hours To Resume On April 15

It’s worth mentioning that the regular working hours will resume on Monday, April 15! However, it’s also equally important to note that since Saturdays and Sundays are officially weekend days in the UAE. So, the employees of the federal government will be getting a nine-day break. As a result, with so many days to celebrate the revered festival, it’s bound to be an exciting affair. It should also be noted that whether the moon is sighted or not, the holidays officially begin on April 8. In case you’re confused, Ramadan lasts for 29 to 30 days depending on when the moon is sighted, according to the Islamic calendar.
