UAE celebrated its national day on a grand scale. With deals, offers and galore, UAE-ites celebrated the prominent day on a monumental scale. Aged 60, Murad Hiked For 11 Hours To Reach The Top Of Jebel Jais
Murad Marwan aged 60, celebrated the 49th National Day by hiking 49km to the top of the Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah. Sound’s astounding right? Well, he hiked continuously for 11 hours to reach at the top of the mountain. He started the hike at 6 45 Am and managed to reach the peak at 5 45 PM.

Murad is an expat living in the UAE for 27 years. He hoisted seven UAE flags at different heights to represent the seven emirates of the country. While speaking to a leading daily he said,
“I hoisted the last flag proudly at a height of 1,700 metres above sea level.”

Murad Decided To Hike On Behalf Of The Syrian Community In The UAE
Calling the UAE his second home he added,
“I have been living here for a long time and I never felt like an expatriate. The UAE, its leaders and people are “kind, welcoming, and generous. “This walk was the least I could do to express my love, respect and appreciation to the UAE government and people.”
Speaking about this hike, he also said that he decided to this on behalf of the Syrian community in the UAE.
