As we are halfway through the month of Ramadan, people are certainly waiting for the Eid al-Fitr. And, even though the moon sighting in the UAE will take place on March 29, the country has announced the holiday dates for government sector employees across the country. Here’s all you need to know about the development of the year with a holiday.
Eid Holiday Announced For Public Sector Employees
It is expected that the holiday will begin on Shawwal 1 and end on Shawwal 3 at 1446AH. This means corresponding to the Gregorian calendar, work will resume on Shawwal 4. As revealed in a report by Khaleej Times, even though the moon sighting will take place on March 29, holiday dates for government employees across the UAE have been revealed. Yes, if the crescent is spotted on March 29, the Eid al-Fitr holidays will start on Sunday, March 30. This will result in a four-day holiday from March 29 to April 1. Especially, since Saturday is already a weekend for most of the employees across the country.
However, if the moon is not spotted on this day, the first day of Eid holiday will be on March 31. So, the residents will get a five-day long weekend, which will begin from March 29 to April 2.

If the festivities begin on Monday, then employees will get to celebrate a six-day long weekend, which will be from March 28 to April 2. So, the number of days of the holidays absolutely depends on the sighting of the moon, but one thing is certain, there is much to do in the country during the Eid holidays.
