This major update rolled out in Abu Dhabi, where Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister, sat down with his Pakistani counterpart, Mohammad Ishaq Dar. Their meeting was part of the 12th UAE-Pakistan Joint Ministerial Commission – basically, a high-level chat to keep the bond strong and future-focused.
Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, who headed the UAE side during the talks, made it clear – the bond between the UAE and Pakistan runs deep. These two nations have been side by side since 1971, building something solid. After 50 years of teamwork, shared ambitions, and progress worth celebrating, the nations have decided to take the next big move in travel industry.
Non-oil trade alone between the two has crossed a whopping $8.6 billion in 2024, showing how much potential this bond holds. From trade to tech, the UAE and Pakistan are looking at every possible way to grow together.
Tech, Investment & A Future-Focused Deal
But the visa agreement wasn’t the only deal signed that day. The leaders also sealed an agreement focusing on artificial intelligence and the digital economy. Mohamed Hassan Al Suwaidi from the UAE and Zarar Hashim Khan, Pakistan’s Federal Secretary for IT, inked this futuristic deal. The message? Both nations are ready to embrace tech and innovation like never before.
There was more good news for businesses, too. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to set up a joint task force promoting UAE investments in Pakistan’s key sectors. With Mohamed Hassan Al Suwaidi and Tariq Bajwa from Pakistan leading the charge, this task force will open new doors for collaboration in areas that matter most.
