A travel advisory has been posted for the citizens of the UAE. The advisory urges the citizens of the UAE not to travel to the two African countries mentioned. It was issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the UAE (MoFAICUAE). The two African countries mentioned in the advisory are Equatorial Guinea and Tanzania. The reason behind this was the outbreak of the Marburg virus.
UAE Issues Travel Advisory
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the UAE (MoFAICUAE) posted the travel advisory on Twitter. The advisory asked people to postpone their travel at present to the Federal Republic of Tanzania and the Republic of Equatorial Guinea.

This came after the announcement by the health authorities in the Federal Republic of Tanzania and the Republic of Equatorial Guinea on the outbreak of the Marburg virus. The Ministry has asked the citizens who are living in these countries and also those who are on a visit to take the necessary precautions as directed by the competent authorities.

It also asked people to contact the Ministry in case of emergency and gave out the emergency helpline number (0097180024). Additionally, MOFAIC urged UAE residents to register for the “Twajudi” service through the ministry’s smart app, “UAE MOFAIC,” or at www.mofaic.gov.ae if they are already travelling or plan to do so.
The Ministry offers a service called “Twajudi” to help with communication with UAE nationals living overseas, to support them, and to organise their return in the event of an emergency or crisis.
When in close contact with an infected individual, the Marburg virus disease is both extremely deadly and highly contagious. The virus is a member of the same viral family as the Ebola virus. Only Tanzania and Equatorial Guinea have so far been identified as having cases of the Marburg viral disease. There are actions being taken to stop these occurrences.
In the midst of a deadly wave in Africa, the World Health Organisation has issued a warning that the danger of the Marburg virus is “very high.”
