Recently, a top official stated that the GCC single tourist visa has been approved. In fact, it is expected to be rolled out quite soon! This was revealed by the UAE Minister of Economy, Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri. Here’s what he had to say.
Unified GCC Visa Approved?
As revealed by the minister, the GCC tourist visa has already been approved and is now waiting to be implemented! This single tourist visa will allow holders to travel to any of the member countries without having to reapply for visas every time they enter the borders (of the member countries). As revealed by Khaleej Times, discussions are going on about rolling out this unified visa in the region. The GCC Grand Tours Visa will be similar to the Schengen Tourist Visa and has now been in discussion for the past few years.
More About The Visa
Holders of this visa will be able to visit countries like the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, and Kuwait. They will be able to do so on a single visa! With the unification of the visa, the tourism industry is expected to see a boom, thereby creating better jobs that are bound to boost the GDP in the region.
This comes at a time when the UAE’s economy continues to grow, with the contribution of the travel and tourism sector also increasing. It is estimated that new jobs will be created in this sector. Yes, with one in nine residents expected to be working in the sector by 2034.

How Much Will It Cost?
At this point, it’s worth mentioning that although the official prices are not yet in, it is expected that the packages for a couple of night stays, travel, and sightseeing in three countries of the region can cost about AED4,000 to AED5,000 and above. This entry visa will be similar to a Schengen Visa. Yes, it would allow the holders access to the six Gulf nations as stated above.
