UAE: Staycation Prices Increase By 300% Ahead Of NYE Celebrations As Demands For Local Getaways Rise

New Year’s Eve is nearly here and let’s be honest we already know that there are people who are looking to travel abroad. Even if it means booking the tickets at increased prices at the last minute. Yes, it was recently revealed that even though last-minute bookings are seeing an increased price of hotels and flights, it’s not deterring people. And now, another report in Khaleej Times mentions that there is a 300% surge in the prices of resorts and flights in the UAE, as there is now a higher demand for people who are looking to travel locally, resulting in a higher demand for staycation.

UAE is one of the most popular places for people to take a vacation during the New Year’s as the NYE celebrations are truly unparalleled. From Dubai to Ras Al Khaimah, cities truly bring in the new year with a bang and the fanfare is absolutely worth experiencing. But it should be noted that booking agencies have revealed that the rates of resort rooms have seen a rise of up to 300% as there is a surge in the local demand. This is also because of the fact that airfares (to other destinations) have seen a rise due to which many are opting to plan a staycation instead.

Surge In Popularity Of Staycations

It’s worth mentioning that the current rates of the hotel, according to such travel experts is anywhere between AED800 to AED2000 per night in Dubai. Not just Dubai, but even Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah have seen a surge in popularity as compared to the previous year. As a result, prices for staycation have increased across the UAE. Since, families are mostly drawn to theme parks, they prefer hotels and resorts near them. While couples generally prefer romantic escapes.
