As people returned to work on January 2, 2024, there is one common question that is on everybody’s mind. What about paid holidays? Well, it seems that there are several public holidays on the calendar in the UAE. And it seems that there might be a nine-day-long weekend this year.
Long Weekends Falling In 2024
If you are also curious about all the upcoming holidays for 2024, now is the perfect time to start planning, as we certainly have some idea about the holidays that will be available for the year. Although some of these dates might vary as they are dependent on moon sightings, most of them are expected to result in a long weekend!
How Many Long Weekends Expected In 2024?
There are several long weekends that are expected this year. Take a look –
- Eid Al-Fitr is expected to be a nine-day long weekend as the last day of Ramadan is expected to fall on April 9, Monday, which will be an off. As it is expected to start on Tuesday, April 9 and last until Friday, April 12, when combined with two weekends falling before and after the auspicious five days, it can certainly be a nine-day weekend.
- Arafat Day, Eid Al-Adha might be a five-day long weekend, as it will fall in the middle of June. Expected to begin on Sunday, June 16 and go on till June 19, Wednesday, you can take two more holidays to make it a seven-day long weekend.
- UAE National Day will be falling on December 2 and December 3, which are Monday and Tuesday, respectively. So when you combine the two holidays with Saturday and Sunday, which is a weekend. And so, it becomes a four-day holiday for the residents of the UAE.
