The weekend is over and so are the rains. Well, not really! The weekend might be over but the UAE is set to witness more as far the weather is concerned. Residents enjoyed heavy rainfall over this weekend and now the National Centre of Meterology (NCM) forecasts that the weather intensity will weaken by today. However, there is a chance of rainfall over northern and eastern areas.
And that’s not all! Along with torrential rains, snow is also on the cards for UAE. The NCM forecasts a significant drop in temperature and also predicts there might be snowfall in the mountains today. Rainfall is expected to last until Wednesday and relative humidity will witness a hike by Monday, especially in the internal areas.
This is not the first time UAE has been reported in the country. In February 2017, the temperature had dipped to a freezing -2.2°C in UAE’s highest peak- Jebel Jais and videos of snow-capped mountains went viral on social media. Last year, Umm Al Quwain witnessed hail and ice pellets on cars and roofs.
We can’t wait to see this year’s snow! In case you happen to click pictures, do share it with us!
