An Air India flight leaving for Delhi from Udaipur was forced to make an emergency landing after a cell phone exploded on board. The phone belonged to a passenger and burst during the takeoff procedure, reported India Today. These tiny troublemakers, bursting with power and excitement, have a knack for choosing the most inconvenient moments to ignite. 

Once the issue was resolved, the plane swiftly departed from Udaipur, a mere hour after the emergency landing. The pilot’s quick thinking probably helped ensure the safety of not just one, but many passengers. 

Has this happened before? Yup! Last year, During an IndiGo flight from Dibrugarh to Delhi, a passenger’s mobile phone caught fire in mid-air. The incident was reported on April 15 2022. The cabin crew swiftly tackled the situation, using a fire extinguisher to douse the flames. These details were confirmed by officials from the aviation regulator DGCA, reported Gadgets Now.
