South Africa Has New Covid-19 Variant Called Omicron; Countries Shut Travel Doors

On November 26, hundreds of passengers from South Africa were healed at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport. This is because South Africa has a new Covid-19 variant called Omicron. Experts warn that this covid-19 variant is spreading faster than even the delta variant. First discovered in southern Africa’s Botswana this is a worrisome variant. The super strain has 30 mutations. Many countries like Canada, the USA and the European Union have blocked flights from African countries after the discovery of the Omicron variant.

UK To Restrict Travel For Citizens Who Refuse COVID-19 Booster Shots

Many countries are slowly opening their borders to fully vaccinated Indians without the need to quarantine. There is some great news here for Indian tarvellers waiting to travel to the UK. The UK government lifted the quarantine guidelines for the fully vaccinated passengers from India vaccinated with Covishield. Issuing a statement, Alex Ellis, British High Commissioner to India, said that no quarantine is required for Indian travellers to the UK who have been fully vaccinated with Covishield or any other UK-approved vaccine from October 11.
